How do collection charges work?

Collection charges are standard among all online payment platforms, including Venmo. If collection charges are passed to the member, the member will cover the processing fees. For example, a $100 charge paid by card would incur a fee of $3.30 (3% + $0.30). The member would pay $103.40, and the chapter would receive the full $100.

However, if the chapter absorbs the collection charges, the member pays $100, and the chapter receives $96.70 after deducting the $3.30 fee. This is standard practice among online payment platforms.
